Cold.com Domain Name Auction Rolled Over To 2009
Watertown, MA, November 17, 2008 / — No qualified bids were received in the Cold.com domain name auction that closed on Friday, November 14, 2008, says Patent Kinetics, LLC, an intellectual property strategy, evaluation, and brokerage company, that conducted the sealed bid auction.
“The market was very much higher when we began the project,” said Bob Weber, Managing Director, Patent Kinetics, LLC. “At least three domain names were sold for US$1M or more earlier in 2008. However, in these extraordinary economic times with credit unavailable even to many large companies, the market for Internet domain names is uncertain.”
“We’re certainly disappointed,” said David Sprogis, owner of the Cold.com domain name. “Bob assembled a first rate team. The project was conceived, planned, and executed in the most professional manner which resulted in great interest. We're all a bit surprised and disappointed that we did not get the results we anticipated.”
To take advantage of possible changes in market direction, the Cold.com domain name auction will be rolled over to 2009.
